We recently discovered Reuben’s Breakfast in Palm City, and it was a great find. From the moment we walked in, the staff made us feel welcome with friendly, personable service that never felt rushed.
The menu had plenty of tempting choices, but one thing became clear as soon as our meals arrived: the portions are absolutely enormous. Everything was fresh, flavorful, and cooked just right, making it a breakfast well worth the visit.
It’s the kind of local spot where you can tell they take pride in taking care of their customers. If you’re looking for a hearty breakfast with generous portions and a warm, hometown atmosphere, Reuben’s is definitely worth adding to your list.

🐠 Fort Pierce aquarium celebrates 25 years
The Gist: The St. Lucie County Aquarium is celebrating 25 years with free admission, special activities and a chance to meet Smithsonian scientists. The celebration is set for Saturday, Aug. 22, with another free-admission day planned for Friday, Aug. 28.
Why It Matters: This is a nice excuse to bring the kids to the aquarium without spending a dime. On Aug. 22, families can check out crafts, interactive activities and the exhibits, while the Aug. 28 celebration adds fish-feeding tours and behind-the-scenes looks at how the aquarium's ecosystems are cared for.
🌿 Indrio Savannahs Preserve reopens
The Gist: Indrio Savannahs Preserve in Fort Pierce has reopened after an 18-month restoration project that reconnected its wetlands and 35-acre lake. The preserve now has a new boardwalk across the restored wetland, making it easier to reach trails on the western side.
Why It Matters: For anyone looking for a quiet place to walk, watch wildlife or spend some time outside, there’s now a little more to explore at Indrio Savannahs. The preserve has three miles of trails, and the restored wetland should also create more habitat for wildlife along the way.
🐟 Fresh seafood with a marina view

Sebastian Saltwater Marina Restaurant has a waterfront setting that makes lunch or dinner feel a little more relaxed. The menu covers plenty of seafood, from fish dip and seafood platters to mahi, shrimp and Caribbean-inspired dishes.
The outdoor deck overlooks the Indian River and is especially nice when there’s a breeze. Inside dining is available too, along with daily happy hour at the waterfront bar.
🤿 Gear up for your next dive

Getting started with diving can mean a lot of new gear and plenty of questions. Dive Odyssea gets good feedback for making that process easier, especially for beginners who need help choosing masks, fins and other equipment.
The shop also offers PADI lessons, tank fills and a wide range of dive gear, along with canoe and kayak rentals. Some local divers have been coming here for decades, which says a lot about the relationships they’ve built over the years.
