You may have noticed things look a little different around here. We recently switched to a new newsletter tool, and it gave us a good excuse to freshen up the design too. The content is still the same kind of stuff you’re used to, but the new format lets us make the newsletter a little cleaner, more visual, and more fun to read. ✈️ Vero Beach Airport wraps up $3M renovationThe Gist: Vero Beach Regional Airport has officially completed nearly $3 million in traveler-focused upgrades. Passengers can now step under new UV-rated shaded walkways, relax on a fresh turf patio, use a redesigned baggage claim, and look forward to an upcoming concession stand. Why It Matters: Local travel demand is as strong as ever, with potential new routes to Pittsburgh via Breeze and Philadelphia via American Airlines on the horizon. These cozy improvements make beating the Florida heat much easier for local travelers, giving our hometown hub room to grow while keeping arrivals comfortable. What's Next: The airport is inviting community members to share their feedback this fall on proposed terminal expansion designs, which could bring the outdoor baggage claim fully indoors.
🤝 LEARN United returns for season twoThe Gist: United Way of Indian River County and the Indian River Community Foundation are back with LEARN United, a professional development series for nonprofit staff and leaders. The program kicked off in August with a session on nonprofit sustainability, and continues this fall with workshops on grant writing, burnout prevention, and board engagement. It is free and open to professionals across the county. Why It Matters: Indian River County's 898 nonprofits employ over 4,100 people and generate $448 million in annual revenue, making this training critical to keeping our community's social safety net strong.
