We love finding great local spots, and we recently discovered KeKe’s in Stuart (right off US 1). Definitely one to add to the list, but you have to look carefully or you might miss it tucked into the strip mall.

Everything from the service to the overall atmosphere made it an easy, enjoyable experience but I have to say, I especially love their version of home fries…so good.

It’s always nice to find spots like this nearby, whether you’re meeting up with a friend, taking the family out, or just looking for an easy meal that doesn’t require a whole lot of planning.

The Gist: The Stuart City Commission unanimously approved Michael Giardino as the city's next city manager, drawing applause in the commission chamber after the vote. Giardino brings 26 years of U.S. Navy experience and currently serves as deputy general manager of LaGuardia Airport in New York. He was chosen from more than 80 applicants.

Why It Matters: Stuart's city manager runs day-to-day city operations, and Giardino steps in as the city balances downtown growth with the quality-of-life pressures Martin County residents care most about.

The Gist: The new North Causeway Bridge officially opens May 15, replacing the old 1963 drawbridge with a taller, fixed bridge that sits 85 feet above the water. The $111 million project also adds protected bike and walking paths, an observation deck, and a connection to the East Coast Greenway.

Why it Matters: No more waiting on bridge openings. For locals and visitors, that means smoother trips between the mainland and North Hutchinson Island. Boaters get a win too, with open access through the channel.

If mom likes water views, fresh seafood, and the kind of breezy waterfront afternoon that feels like a small vacation, Sailor's Return is the move this Sunday. The space is airy and bright, blue-and-tan with nautical accents, wicker seating, and a patio that opens straight to the boats.

They've put together a special Mother's Day menu just for May 10, with reservations open now and live music from Vern Daysel keeping the dock easy from 4 to 7 PM. The regular menu is also strong, anchored by a smoked fish dip locals love, blackened shrimp tacos, and pineapple snapper with coconut rice and rum sauce that has people driving in from Vero.

You've probably walked past April Daze Boutique a dozen times on your way to coffee or the Riverwalk, but if Sunday morning rolls around and Mother's Day still needs a fix, this is where you go. They’re open Sundays from 11 to 5, which is especially handy for last-minute gifting.

The selection runs across women's clothing, jewelry, soy candles, home goods, accessories, and a thoughtful corner of unique gifts grouped by who they're for. The staff is warm without hovering, the wrapping is lovely, and they have something for everyone.
